I’m Jake — a bittersweet songs singer and songwriter. My music was born from small rooms and long roads, somewhere between the quiet corners of England where I grew up and the wide skies of Canada where I now live.
I learned early on that songs are like maps — they tell you where you’ve been and hint at where you’re going. From the old swing and jazz records that spun through my childhood home, to the first time I heard Dylan’s voice crack open a world of feeling, music became the language I trusted most. When I stepped onto the street to busk, nerves melted into freedom — and I knew I’d found a way to belong.
Over the years, my sound has settled into something raw and simple — it blends folk roots with small-room intimacy and a touch of country gaze.
Most of my songs are recorded with a bare-bones setup — just me and a mic, letting the room shape the sound while the noise of life moves around it. What comes out might be a bit rough around the edges, but I hope the feeling comes through.
